Rahul & Anushka at Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020 (LMIFWSS20)

Designers Rahul Anand and Anushka Laul’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection Janani, Amba and Jagadamba- A story of Kargha to Kamyabi was an ode to womanhood. “Our collection is all about women empowerment. We want to celebrate women and all their aspects,” said Rahul Anand. The designers trace the journey of a single thread from the loom that turns into a glamorous dress that a woman owns as her very own creation, making each thread a part of her journey to the top. The collection explored interesting drapes using handloom fabrics from Jharkhand through contemporary saris, angarakhas, layered kurtas and tie-up pants in different hues of black, blood red, earthly yellow and rustic silver. Shazia Ilmi walked as their showstopper donning black tussar silk sari with broad silver border accessorised with a bindi and a mangtika.

Nithya Reddy at Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020 (LMIFWSS20)

Nithya Reddy is a luxury prêt wear brand. It focuses on contemporary wear with an old world charm. The designer's abundant love for nature is seen in each bespoke and prêt wear piece she crafts. To keep the creations fresh and inimitable, this label crafts the outfits with jute and handloom fabrics and incorporates embossed embroidery and motifs depicting nature. To show the magic of nature through her outfits, Nithya Reddy has come up with a unique collection 'Fiora Tales' this time. The inspiration for this collection comes from the beautiful floral walls of the vintage French houses.

Mahima Mahajan at Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020 (LMIFWSS20)

Mahima Mahajan’s collection showcased vibrant colours, tropical prints, fresh silhouettes, in a myriad of pop colours with kaleidoscopic embroidery and sequin embroidery. The collection was all about creating a balance between fluidity and structure. Mahajan believes in reinforcing the charisma of the modern woman and allowing her to express herself in a way that transcends contemporary design ideology.

Athiya Shetty closed the show for designer Mahima Mahajan, wearing a navy blue choli with mirror work and a heavy organza nude coloured skirt with floral prints. The actress looked ravishing as he left her hair open with beachy waves and wore a statement diamond necklace to complete the look.

Nidhika Shekhar at Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020 (LMIFWSS20)

Neha Dhupia looks stunning as she turns muse to Nidhika Shekhar at Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2020. Neha Dhupia completed her look with a golden choker, open straight hair and glossy make-up. Further, the collection derives inspiration from red moments which is about period shaming. The Red Phase is a collection inspired a woman’s menstrual cycle journey and it’s meant to empower women who have been period shamed in the past.

Shekhar's showcased the journey of how a girl from her childhood hits puberty and attains womanhood through the colours of her garments.

The first outfit of the show was a white asymmetrical dress, which the designer said represented a girl before hitting puberty. As the show progressed, gowns, skirts and dresses, rendered in cotton, linen and organza, were seen on the ramp in hues of red which the designer said represented women after they attain womanhood.
