Anshu Jain
A collection for defiant new-age brides. Anshu Jain’s collection was for those dauntless and defiant brides, who leave no stone unturned to standout on their special day. The collection focuses on raising the bar for new-age brides and not for ones who strictly go for traditional weddings. Today, brides don’t always want to carry tons of jewelry and heavy outfits, preferring comfort over anything else. This collection has been made particularly for beach and destination weddings. Instead of heavy lehengas and blouses, Anshu has given lot of silhouettes and brallete choices. Put simply, it was bridal wear without any rules. Instead of heavy wedding attires and heavy embroidered lehengas, the modern bride is curating her own wedding outfits. And this collection helps her do just that.

Princess Diya Kumari Foundation X Archana Kochhar

Jaipur, the pink city and capital of Rajasthan, is at the heart of the inspiration for this collection, and more precisely the vibrant colours and festivals such as Diwali, which is the only time women wear black.

Archana Kocchar’s collection ‘The Royal Crest’ draws its inspiration from the royal and lavish functions and fun gala celebrations of an Indian bride. The collection is a fuse of Indian bridal silhouettes. The silhouettes ranges from traditional fused lehengas with stylized tops, floor length jacket anarkalis, ruffle saris, tassel jackets, keyhole zipper anarkalis and sari gowns. Inspired by the timeless beauty of the architecture of Jaipur, the jewelry for this collection is handmade, using delicate gotapatti work, thread work and fabrics replicating traditional designs of Rajasthani jewelry. The Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDKF) works with underprivileged women in Rajasthan, training them on heritage crafts. The show was curated by Arti Surendranath.
